What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth is a wireless communication standard described in the IEEE 802.15.1 specification for connecting devices wirelessly and transmitting data over short distances of up to 100m. The operating range varies depending on the power of the transmitter or receiver, the presence of obstacles or other interference. In residential or commercial applications, this range is approximately 10 metres. Bluetooth technology is used in mobile phones, tablets, car hands-free kits, headsets, modems, computer devices and, more recently, LED drivers.
LED drivers with Bluetooth communication module
Equipping LED drivers with a Bluetooth communication module allows lighting to be controlled using popular devices such as tablets, smartphones or personal computers. Incorporating the radio module directly into the LED power supply has made it possible and much simpler to control the lighting, as no additional light control devices need to be installed. LED drivers with a Bluetooth module thus form an integrated and miniaturised system for controlling luminaires. Such a system is considerably cheaper than a power supply set with a separate driver. LED drivers with a built-in Bluetooth-compatible wireless communication module offer the possibility to control and manage lighting in residential buildings, offices, production halls, shopping malls and other premises. The Bluetooth power supplies are compatible with Tuya technology and connected to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Tmall Genie, Duer, etc. allowing voice control.
